The Jazz Society was formed in 1994 to promote traditional jazz around the Lake of the Ozarks area. The originators had Dixieland in mind but we are
branching out into a combination of Dixieland, Ragtime & Big Band Swing. Our monthly newsletter features details on upcoming Ozark Jazz Society events, jazz festivals,
local bands that are performing around the Lake and articles relating to our events and other topics of interest to our members. We feature live music for dances or concerts every month except December. When we hire
a group, we usually have a reasonable door charge for the public and reduce it for Jazz Society members. Several months each year our monthly activity "spotlights" jazz musicians and groups working around Lake of the Ozarks. These
events promote local player's venues that hire them and serve as an occasion for members and like-minded folks to gather and enjoy the music. Membership in the Society helps support our efforts to promote live
Traditional Jazz, Ragtime and Swing music. Members enjoy admission discounts at all our events. Dues are set at $20 per year for an individual and $30 for couples. We would welcome your support with a membership. Our monthly
newsletter, Jazz Notes, and this web site has an application, or you may contact me or any other board member to join. ...Jack Schaumburg Officers
